VACATION HERE I COME!!!!!!

At 10:30 tonight.... I left HealthSouth Rehab Hospital and I officially began my 9 day VACATION!!!!!!! :-)

I kicked it off by leaving 2 of my favorite patients who won't be there when I get back. :-( .....
I shed a few tears (I tend to get attached very easily but these 2 have been there since I started a month and a half ago...) Anyways.... I got home and talked to my parents for a bit and climbed into bed to check facebook and look for updates on my frequented blogs. Colleen (a blogger I stalk...) and I decided to update mine. She was talking about blogs that we stalk and how we should show ourselves! LOL! Make new blogger friends. Matt makes fun of me because it's as if I can't make real friends, so I have to make internet friends... but it's not that at all! I love to read other people's blogs and see what's going on in people's lives on the complete opposite coast! :-) It's a good time...

Anyways...

Tomorrow I'm gonna spend the morning packing and getting things ready.. then I'm heading to Fairmont to spend the night with Matt and his family and then Sunday after church we're off to the Smokey Mountains, Tennessee!!!!!!!!! :-) We're staying between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg! I'm so ready to just RELAX and not have to work!!! :-) We're going to.... Dollywood!

It's gonna be great! I'll have plenty of pictures and updates when I get back on the 5th!!! Expect great stories! ;-)

And if you're blog stalking me.... leave a comment and show yourself! :-) I'm sure I'd love to read your blog as well!!!!!

Epiphany... and the meaning of life.

So, I had an epiphany the other day which inevitably led to a meltdown.... I was working my 4th day in a row with only one day break from 3 days of work... On my way home from this 4th day of work... I realized that from here on out.. I am an adult, which means... I have no more summers off!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been kind of depressed of recent because I am supposed to be on summer break and I am working almost EVERY DAY! Granted... I have my small vacations and the big one coming up in 9 days... but I just realized the other day that never again will I have a 2 month break. I will officially be working (or going to school) for approximately the next 40 some years..... :-( That is slightly depressing. I guess life is all about what you make it. Granted that I know when I get done with nursing school I will have better options and be able to find a job in a hospital or of private practice that I like. I like the rehab hospital because it truly is amazing to see people walking that were told they would never be able to move their legs again. That is truly amazing.. but I don't know. It's such hard work. Part of me thinks a desk job would be nice.... or owning my own little bakery/coffee shop ( a dream of mine.... fantasy I guess...) but... I know that when I am with my patients and I get thank you cards from patients saying how my smile and my taking care of them made their experience so much better... it truly makes me love my job (that happened this week.. I cried).

In other news.... Matt is officially old. He turned 22 on Tuesday. We celebrated his birthday with some relaxing and playing Wii in the afternoon... then we ate dinner with his family (Quesadillas, Queso dip and chips and obviously... Matt's favorite.. chocolate pie!) then the 2 of us went to see The Happening. It was alright... I just felt tense the whole time... but not so much scared or freaked out. I liked it though. I got Matt a webcam since he is going to be 10 hours away from me in just a couple months. He is going to Chicago for Seminary... it's gonna be a long couple years.. it won't be easy.... but I'm anxious to visit chicago and live there when I graduate! :-)

I have tomorrow off so I am taking my niece who is visiting for a few weeks to eat chinese food and see The Kungfu Panda movie and possibly do a little shopping. Then tomorrow night I may just relax or I may go visit matt at the teen camp he is a counselor at this week. We'll see....

Hope everyone is doing well! :-)

It's been awhile.....

Since I've had a break...

So I realize that I haven't been updating much lately... well.... updating AT ALL... but to be honest... I sort of feel like no one reads this anyways so why should I waste my time?!?! But, I read Ashley's blog tonight and sort of got up enough motivation to update... so here I am.

My summer is moving right along... I work a lot still, but I've had a couple little vacations and some fun here and there.

I'll give you some picture updates.....
I guess I already wrote about the Pirates game matt and I went to... so moving along...

A couple weekends ago, My roommate,Emily, and I went to Washington D.C. to have some fun and visit her sister.
We had a lot of fun, we ate out the first night we got there at an Irish Pub, then walked around for awhile and then headed back to the ladies house her sister was house sitting for. It was a really big row house in a nice part of D.C. We stayed with her there that night... we woke up the next day and headed out for a day of SHOPPING!!! :-) We got on the Metro(pictured above) and headed for Pentagon City. We went to the big mall there... we of course went into all the really expensive stores and felt like poor little college students, but my eyes lit up when I saw the BIGGEST FOREVER 21 I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!! I could have (I so wanted to..) go crazy.. but I only bought one thing. After our shopping at the mall and eating at the cute little pita place, we headed to Crystal City, which sucked and we were out of there pretty quickly. We then headed to Chinatown to the HUGE Urban Outfitters to buy stuff for our dorm room. Luckily for us, they were having a sale on a lot of the apartment furniture and stuff.. so we got rugs for our room... but not just ANY rugs.. the rug I have been wanting and admiring online for months now...
We got 2 of them to lay side by side... isn't it so pretty. We each bought one, we thought they were $28.00 each because that's what the tag said.. but when we got to the register they were each $9.99!!!!!!!!! It made our day!!!! I also got a lampshade that matches my bedspread. I love Urban Outfitters so much! :-)
Anyways....
the next day we went to the Jewish day festival on the National Mall. We saw.. Regina Spektor LIVE!!!! She was AMAZING!!!!!!

We also met and got an autograph of.... If you don't recognize this guy.... let me refresh your memories...

Yes folks... it is Mandy Patinkin.. a.k.a Inigo Montoya from the famous movie, The Princess Bride!!!!! We met him and got his picture and autograph!!! :-) He even did his famous line from the movie!

That was an amazing day. We even met
OSCAR THE GROUCH!!! LOL!

That was an awesome day!! (***Sorry for all the posts of the videos I don't know what happened***)We went to the Art Museum.... :-)We saw Sex & The City! :-)

We saw the Washington Monument and went to the Holocaust Museum.

We had so much fun! :-)

Then I came home and worked a few days and then this past weekend I went to Ohio for my cousins graduation and my other cousin and his fiances bridal shower. It was a lot of fun too, but really hot without Air conditioning...

So that's pretty much what's been happening here. I didn't see Matt for 2 weeks because he was going on adventures of his own to Montana for one of our friends that were getting married and he was in the wedding, but a few days before matt, the groom and some of the groomsmen all went to Las Vegas... he brought me back some classy Las Vegas fuzzy dice for my car! LOL!!!! I got to see him yesterday though so that was great! :-) It's amazing how much you can miss someone when you don't get to see them... but those 2 weeks were just a taste of what to come because Matt decided he is going to grad school (seminary) in Chicago. Well, really it's in Deerfield, IL but it's right outside of Chicago. It'll be kind of stinky for the 2 years I am in school, but we'll make it work and it'll be good in the long run. :-)

Well... I'm going to bed now... if you read this... comment because I'm feeling like I just wasted my time because no one ever reads this blog. LOL!!!
