Workin' Out Music

So, I've been working out more frequently lately. My goal is to run a 5k in a decent amount of time, by the time I get back from Africa at the end of May.

Here is my question to all your bloggers out there: What music do You listen to when you work out?!?! So far, this is what I've been listening to on repeat while working out:

Michael Jackson-The Way You Make Me Feel
Paramore-That's What You Get
T.I. and Rihanna- Live Your Life
The Fray- You Found Me
Kevin Rudolf and Lil' Wayne- Let It Rock
Beyonce-Single Ladies
Lenka-The Show
Ingrid Michaelson-Giving Up

Everything on my ipod is pretty much mellow and coffee shop music. Help me out here... give me some good work out music advice!! :-)

I usually listen to a mixture of Christian music and hip hop ironically enough....lately I have been listening to Charlie Hall's new CD...Kayne's "Stronger" is also a good pick me up during the tough part of a run ;)

I struggle with having all that coffee shop music too, Katy, but a few of my favs are:

Akon - We takin' over
MIA
Citizen Cope
The Juliana Theory has some good upbeat stuff
The National has some good drum cadence for keeping a steady pace
Queen (of course)
Ok Go - Get Over It, Here It Goes Again
Rogue Wave - Harmonium (makes you want to take off running forever)
Yael Naim - New Soul (just because I really like that song)

... and Justin Timberlake and Kanye are always good too :)

I listen to the most rocking worship music I have! (Mostly Merchant Band -- myspace.com/merchantband) My favorite are the songs that really engage me -- the ones that either make me worship or make me pray as I run... Merchant Band's Standing in the Gap always does that...
